If you're like most engaged couples, the choices for the menswear typically gets decided towards the end of the wedding planning process. After the bride's gown and bridesmaid dresses are chosen, the groom's wedding suit or tux and accessories are easier to coordinate. If you missed in our previous blog entries, we recommend choosing a tuxedo shirt that complements the bride's gown (white for a stark white dress or ivory shirts for any color off-white gown). You may also want your groomsmen's neck ties to match the bridesmaid dresses.
While those are the traditional ways to select menswear for your wedding party, there are other creative ways to style the groom and groomsmen.
1. All the guys can wear the same wedding tux.
2. The groom can wear a different style tie (either groom with a long tie and groomsmen with bowties or vice versa).
3. Same wedding suit for groom and groomsmen with different colored ties or bowties.
4. Minor detail differences on jacket. (For example, Black lapels instead of solid navy tuxedo)
5. Different color tuxedo or suit for groom and groomsmen.
There are lots of different ways for the groom and groomsmen to stand out or blend in with the rest of the wedding party. There's no right or wrong way, just lots of options.
